Historic Preservation Commission seeks public comments on economic impact study

COLUMBIA, MO (June 29, 2012) - The Historic Preservation Commission is now accepting public comments on the first draft of a study of the economic impact of historic preservation in Columbia, Mo. Public comment may be made at the July 3 Historic Preservation Commission meeting, by emailing Rachel Bacon at ribacon at GoColumbiaMo.com or calling (573) 874-7239. Public comments will be accepted until noon Friday, July 6.

This study is being commissioned by the Historic Preservation Commission in partnership with a Historic Preservation Fund Grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Historic Preservation Office. Once public comments have been received and addressed, consultant firm Development Strategies will present the findings at the Monday, Aug. 6, City Council Pre-Council meeting (6 p.m., rooms 1A/1B of City Hall, 701 E. Broadway, Columbia, MO 65201). 

This meeting is free and open to the public. The Daniel Boone Building is an accessible facility. Any person with special needs may call (573) 874-7239. A telecommunications device for the deaf is available at 1-800-MOR-ELAY.
