‘Scenic Route’ Rock Quarry Road litter cleanup

COLUMBIA, MO (March 9, 2012) - The City of Columbia Public Works Department announces that on Saturday, March 10, beginning at 9:15 a.m., the Street Division and 50 local volunteers will clean up "Scenic Route" Rock Quarry Road between Stadium and Grindstone Parkway. Because there is no shoulder or sidewalks along Rock Quarry Road, crews will block one lane of traffic as the volunteers pick up trash. This cleanup effort will result in temporary lane restrictions on Rock Quarry Road until 12 p.m. Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work area and use an alternate route if possible. The road should be fully open to traffic after 12 p.m.
