Water line repair closes section of 9th Street
COLUMBIA, MO (October 9, 2012) - On Tuesday, October 9, 2012 Columbia Water & Light will be repairing a water main line on 9th Street near the intersection of Cherry Street. The work will cause the north and the east bound lanes of the street to be partially blocked. Although the street will remain open to traffic, motorists are encouraged to detour around this area using alternate routes. The project is expected to be completed by the end of Wednesday, October 10.
There might possibly be service interruptions along 9th Street from Cherry to Locust. Customers will be individually notified of service interruptions. If a substantial water pressure drop occurs in the main water line, a precautionary boil advisory could be in effect for one day or until water testing results confirm that the water is safe to drink. Customers under a boil advisory will be individually notified.
