North Village Traffic Calming/Residential Parking Program Open House Information Forum
COLUMBIA, MO (October 16, 2012) - The Columbia Public Works Department has scheduled an open house information forum concerning potential changes to traffic flow and parking in the North Village area. The public meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the basement conference room of the Stephens College Visitor Center at 1215 E. Broadway, on the northwest corner of College & Broadway.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss traffic calming concepts for Saint Joseph Street and a potential residential parking permit program for the North Village area including Park Avenue, Saint Joseph Street, Saint James Street, Ash Street and Hubbell Drive. Although this meeting will follow up on ideas and problem identification from a meeting held Oct. 4, new ideas and information will be shared. There will be a brief introduction and review of the Oct. 4 meeting to assist those who were unable to attend the previous meeting.
A public comment form will be available at the meeting. Public input is valuable and will be considered as traffic calming and parking concepts are developed. Those who cannot attend and wish to provide input or have questions regarding this meeting, should call Richard Stone, P.E. Traffic Engineering, at (573) 874-7250.
