Electronic Waste Recycling Event - Saturday, September 22 from 9 am to Noon

COLUMBIA, MO (September 18, 2012) - The City of Columbia Solid Waste Division announces that Mid- MO Recycling will collect used electronics, as part of their effort to save landfill space through environmentally friendly recycling. Collections will take place on Saturday,September 22, from  9 a.m. to noon in the Home Depot parking lot at 3215 Clark Lane.

Items accepted at no charge include CPU's, printers, keyboards, computer mice, laptops, wire, cables, hard drives, cell phones, pagers, washing machines, stoves, radios, satellite dishes, scanners, speakers, DVD, VCR, fax machines, telephones, answering machines, car batteries, dryers and stereos.

Other items accepted at a small fee include monitors, portable televisions, console televisions, copiers and microwaves. Mid-MO Recycling can not accept televions, monitors, microwaves or copiers without collecting the fee. 

Refrigerators and hazardous materials will not be accepted at this collection event.
