Road Closure During Mizzou Home Football Games
COLUMBIA, MO (August 30, 2013) - ROAD CLOSURE DURING MIZZOU HOME FOOTBALL GAMES
The Columbia Police Department will be closing a portion of Old Route K at the West Outer Road of Providence during all of the Mizzou home football games. The closure will occur from just south of the Bridge past the drive to the MU tennis courts on Old Rt K to the north drive of Providence Hill Apartments. The plan is to close the road three hours before game time through the duration of the game. The road closure was necessary to stop the illegal parking on a narrow two lane road for the safety of pedestrian traffic. When vehicles park illegally on this road it changes the road from two lanes to one lane making it difficult for emergency vehicles to get through the area.
