DETAILS OF INCIDENT:

 

Crash occurred when vehicle #1, a 2013 Ford Expedition, was westbound on I-70 near the 129 MM (I-70/Highway 63 Connector).  Driver #1 lost control due to the wet road conditions and veered off the left side of the roadway striking the guardrail.  During the crash passenger Mylo Pastor-Castaneda and passenger Gizelle Pastor-Castaneda were ejected from the vehicle through the rear glass window. Vehicle #1 had stabilized and came to rest in the center of I-70 westbound near the 129 mm when it was struck by vehicle #2, a 1997 Ford Escort, who was traveling west on I-70 near the 129 mm.

 

Both drivers and all passengers were transported from the scene by EMS personnel to University Hospital for minor non-life threatening injuries.

 

Summons/Charges:  Driver #1 was issued a summons for failing to secure a child less than 8 years old in a child restraint device.
