Passengers at Columbia Regional Airport arrested for trespass

COLUMBIA, MO (July 30, 2013) - On Sunday, July 21, at about 6:45 am, Columbia Regional Airport Public Safety was notified that two passengers had boarded an American Airlines aircraft by accessing an unsecured door at the airline's ticket counter. They were removed from the plane by Airport Public Safety and arrested by the Columbia Police on charges of first degree trespass. All other passengers and luggage were re-screened by TSA, and the plane was swept with negative findings. The flight to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) departed approximately an hour behind schedule. Airport Public Safety took immediate steps to secure the access point and is addressing this issue with the airline.
