Sidewalk closure in the 600 block of East Broadway

COLUMBIA, MO (June 10, 2013) - Columbia Public Works advises that work on the sidewalk in front the Executive Building at 601 East Broadway will begin on Thursday, June 13 at 7:00 am. This will result in an extended closure of the sidewalk along Broadway and along 6th Street. (Project map is attached to the release.)

The project will be completed in phases as follows:

*Beginning on Thursday, June 13, the sidewalk along both Broadway and 6th Street at the Executive Building will be closed for one week, weather permitting, to allow for exterior work on the building facade.

*Following that work, the sidewalk along Broadway in front of the Executive Building will be closed for a period of 30 days to accomodate sidewalk replacement.

*Following that work, the sidewalk along 6th Street on the west side of the Executive Building will be closed for a period of 30 days to accommodate sidewalk replacement.

The length of work and related closures is all weather dependent. Motorist, cyclist, and pedestrians are urged to use caution in the work area. Pedestrians will be detoured to the south side of Broadway or the west side of 6th Street during the closures.
