FAA Announces Closure of 149 Air Traffic Control Towers - Columbia Tower on the list

COLUMBIA, MO (March 22, 2013) - In a letter from David Grizzle, Chief Operating Officer at the Federal Aviation Administration, Columbia Regional Airport manager Don Elliott was notified that Columbia Regional Airports control tower was one of 149 towers nationwide scheduled to close sometime between April 7 and May 7 due to sequestration.

No exact date of closure was given in the letter, only that closures would be phased over a four week periods beginning April 7.

Attached are the list of nationwide closures.
