Early Morning RV Fire Displaces Mobile Home Residents

COLUMBIA, MO (May 13, 2013) - For Immediate Release:

Early Morning RV Fire Displaces Mobile Home Residents

 

On 05/13/2013, members of the Columbia Fire Department were dispatched, at 01:19 am, to a Vehicle Fire threatening a structure at 4130 Lenoir Street # 107, in Sunset Mobile Home Park. When crews arrived on the scene at 01:26 am they found an RV fully involved and fire extending into the mobile home at 107. Occupants of the involved mobile home were out of the structure when fire crews arrived. Crews notified the residents of # 108, the mobile home next door, and then quickly brought the fire under control.

 

The residents, Sharon Sardis and her daughter, of #107 were sleeping inside the mobile home at the time of the fire. The smoke detector did not wake the residents but Sardis woke up and discovered the front of her RV on fire in the driveway. She and her daughter were able to exit the structure before the fire extended into her mobile home.

 

Assistant Fire Marshal James Pasley investigated the fire and determined the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and a preliminary damage estimate was $ 6,000.00. There were no injuries associated with this fire.
