Milling on several downtown streets to occur overnight on May 23

COLUMBIA, MO (May 23, 2013) - The City of Columbia Public Works Department announces that beginning Thursday, May 23 at 7:00 pm, APAC Missouri crews will mill the following streets to prepare for asphalt overlay:

Eighth Street between Walnut and Elm
Sixth Street between Broadway and Ash
Elm Street between Hitt and Ninth

This work will result in periodic street closure during the overnight hours. Weather permitting, street surface milling should be complete Friday, May 24 at 7:00 am. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the construction area and use an alternate route whenever possible.
