Public Input Meeting Set for Gray Oak Connector

COLUMBIA, MO (November 6, 2013) - Columbia Parks and Recreation is seeking input for the Gray Oak Connector project. The connector would link the Wal-Mart shopping centers on Grindstone Parkway to the Hinkson Creek Trail. 

                                  

Citizens are invited to drop in from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rock Quarry House at Rock Quarry Park (2002 Grindstone Parkway) on November 20. They will be able to give input on various route options. Staff will be available to answer questions.

 

Under a development agreement between the Wal-Mart properties and the City of Columbia, the corporation would fund the construction of a trail connector. Hinkson Creek Trail is located north of the Grindstone Parkway Wal-Mart, and Gray Oak Drive borders the store on the north side.

 

A goal of this proposed trail connection is to link as many homes as possible in the Huntridge-Highpointe Park area to the Hinkson Creek Trail and connect the Seven Oaks Neighborhood to the commercial shopping area along Grindstone Parkway.
