UPATE - Fay Street closure September 18 through September 30

COLUMBIA, MO (September 17, 2013) - The closure mentioned in the original release on August 1 (below) did not take place as scheduled. The new dates for the closure are Septmber 18 through September 30.

The City of Columbia Public Works Department announced today that beginning Monday, August 5,  at 8:00 a.m.  Summit Mechanical will begin excavation for installation of a sanitary sewer lateral and sewer connection and a water service connection for a commercial property at 504 Fay Street.  This work will result in a road closure at 504 Fay Street.  The work should be completed and the road fully reopened by Tuesday, August 20, 2013, by 8:0 0 a.m.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the construction area and use an alternate route.
