Vehicle Collides with Building Causing Significant Damage

COLUMBIA, MO (April 24, 2014) - The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle into a building at 1417 Risen Star Court at 3:45pm on Thursday April 24, 2014.

Fire Department personnel arrived minutes later and observed a vehicle in a duplex with significant damage to the structure.  Fire personnel worked quickly to assess the driver of the vehicle who was transported to University Hospital with minor injuries.  Crews then requested inspectors from Columbia's Building and Site Development Department to the scene to evaluate the integrity of the building.

There was no one in the home at the time of the accident.  A cause has not been determined as of this press release.
