Fire at Kitty Hawk Apartments
COLUMBIA, MO (August 8, 2014) - The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a commercial structure fire at 2300 Parker Street, Kitty Hawk Apartments, apartment 6 on Friday August 8, 2014 at 4:09pm.
Units arrived less than four minutes later and found no visible smoke or flames coming from the multi-story apartment complex. Fire crews went directly to apartment 6 on the third floor and encountered smoke and fire in the unit.
Fire crews deployed a pre-connected hand line, advanced it to the third floor and began an aggressive fire attack, bringing the situation under control in approximately five minutes.
There are no reported injuries associated with this event. Three quints, one ladder truck and a rescue squad responded to this call.
Fire investigators are on the scene performing an origin and cause investigation. No additional details are available at this time.
