Home Invasion Robbery On Apple Tree

COLUMBIA, MO (August 9, 2014) -                                 HOME INVASION ROBBERY ON APPLE TREE

On 8/9/14 at 4:39 A.M., officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Sunset Lane for an injured man found in the backyard of a residence. Officers located the male victim, age 31, and discovered he had been abducted from his residence in the 200 block of Apple Tree Court.

The investigation revealed three to five masked black males armed with handguns forced open the front door of the apartment. Inside the residence were the 31 year old male victim, a female victim, ages 22, and a juvenile male victim, age 13.  The suspects were demanding money and searching the apartment.

When the suspects did not find any money inside the residence, the suspects forced the male victim into the trunk of the female victim’s rented vehicle outside. The male victim was able to escape out of the trunk near Broadway and West Boulevard. When the victim escaped one of the suspects fired one shot at him but he was not injured.  The victim told officers some of the suspects stayed behind with the female victim and the juvenile victim back on Apple Tree Court.

Officers went to the address to check on the other two victims. Officers contacted the female victim inside the residence and she advised the suspects fled on foot from the area prior to officer’s arrival, and the juvenile victim had left the residence on foot.  Officers located the juvenile male victim in the backyard of a residence on Apple Tree Court. The female victim and the 13 year old victim were not injured during the robbery. The female victim’s vehicle is still missing.

The only suspect description is three to five black males.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation is ongoing.
