**UPDATED**Columbia Fire Lieutenant Bruce Britt Killed In Line Of Duty

COLUMBIA, MO (February 22, 2014) - Columbia Fire Department Lieutenant Bruce Britt, 23 year veteran, was killed in the line-of duty while assisting citizens on the scene of a structural collapse. Lieutenant Britt suffered fatal injuries in the collapse at 601 Providence Road South, University Village Apartments and was pronounced deceased at University Hospital.



Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time and the members of our department.

A press conference will be held at Fire Station One, 201 Orr Street at 2pm this afternoon.
