Staffing at city offices will be minimal Thursday morning

COLUMBIA, MO (February 25, 2014) - Staffing levels at city facilities will be minimal Thursday morning as many city employees will be in attendance at the memorial service for Columbia Fire Department Lt. Bruce Britt, who died in the line of duty Feb. 22. Citizens are asked to leave a message, and calls will be returned as soon as possible. The city appreciates the public’s understanding during this time.  

In support of Neighborhood Services Manager Leigh Britt, wife of Bruce Britt, the Community Development Department will be closed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. Included in this closure are the Office of Neighborhood Services, Planning, Building and Site Development and the third floor service center. All offices will reopen for regular business at 1 p.m.

Additional details regarding the memorial service, procession route and protocol will be released as soon as details are finalized.
