Columbia Transit offers free downtown bus routes for the True/False Film Fest this weekend
COLUMBIA, MO (February 27, 2014) - The True/False Film Festival attracts visitors from all over the country every year to downtown Columbia, Missouri. Local hotels and restaurants alike love to see the boom in the tourism industry, but how will Columbia's downtown district handle all of the increased traffic this year?
Once again the City is urging locals and out-of-town visitors to take advantage of public transportation this weekend to ease the congestion during the festival. True/False Film Festival organizers worked closely with the city's local bus line, Columbia Transit, to design a special bus route that will run a short 10 minute loop between all of the film fest venues so customers can just hop on and get a direct route to their next show without having to drive or walk. Columbia Transit will also be running one bus on the normal downtown FastCAT route, which runs a bigger 30 minute loop to hit many of the major parking structures downtown for festival goers.
These routes will be a great option for customers not wanting to walk the long distances between venues, especially with the possible snow and freezing temperatures predicted for this weekend. The downtown bus is normally only $1.50 per ride, but to encourage ridership during the festival and to make it even easier and quicker for customers, the city will be making both of these downtown routes completely free for the length of the festival.
Bus stop signs have been posted with the True/False Film Fest logo for customers to easily find where to catch a downtown bus, and they can even track the bus on their phone in real-time at RideFastCAT.com.
