Injury Accident Sends One to Hospital

COLUMBIA, MO (January 7, 2014) - Injury Accident Sends One to Hospital
Units from the Columbia Fire Department were dispatched to an injury accident at Chapel Hill Road and Scott Boulevard on Tuesday January 7, 2014 at 9:36am.  Fire companies arrived approximately five minutes later and observed three vehicles upright in the roadway.

All three vehicles sustained moderate to heavy damage.  A fuel leak from one of the vehicles was quickly contained.  One person involved in the accident was transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Columbia Fire Department reminds all residents that seat belts save lives. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, buckling up is the single most effective thing you can do to protect yourself in a crash.
