Memorial and Candlelight Walk Planned for MLK Holiday

COLUMBIA, MO (January 14, 2014) - Columbia Parks and Recreation will hold the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Candlelight Walk and Memorial Celebration on Monday, January 20.

 

The candle light walk will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Douglass High School and proceed to the Memorial Celebration at St. Paul UMC (501 Park). The memorial will begin at approximately 7 p.m. During the service, members of the community will be recognized with the annual Dr. King awards.

 

The walk and memorial are both free and open to the public. For more information, call Parks and Recreation at 874-7460.
