Second Arrest Made In Shooting On Worley Street

COLUMBIA, MO (July 28, 2014) - SECOND ARREST MADE IN SHOOTING ON WORLEY STREET

 

On 7/28/14 at 1:03 A.M., the Columbia Police Department arrested Tavion R. Jones, age 18, from Columbia, for the shooting that occurred in the 300 block of West Worley on 7/5/14 at 11:35 P.M. Jones was arrested for two counts of First Degree Assault with a to be set bond.  The investigation in this shooting and other shootings are still ongoing.

 

Officers were driving in the area of Edenton Boulevard and Bodie Drive when the officer recognized a vehicle known to be associated with Jones, whom officers had probable cause to arrest in the West Worley Shooting. The officer performed a traffic stop and Jones was in the vehicle. Jones was arrested for the shooting and officers located a handgun concealed in his waistband. The investigation into the status of the handgun in his possession is still ongoing.
