Vehicle Collides with Utility Pole on Worley

COLUMBIA, MO (July 29, 2014) - Units from the Columbia Fire Department were dispatched to a vehicle collision into a utility pole at 819 Worley Street West on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 5:51pm.

Crews arrived on the scene less than four minutes later and observed a vehicle in to a utility pole.  The vehicle and pole sustained significant damage. 

Worley Street at this location was shut down and Columbia Water and Light was notified.  The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As of this press release, Worley Street remains closed between Hirth and Hardin while utility crews remove the damaged pole.  There is no estimate on homes without power or if power to homes was affected as a result of this incident.
