Public Health & Human Services to Offer Free Vaccines for Students This Saturday

COLUMBIA, MO (July 30, 2014) - (COLUMBIA, MO) -The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services will offer the Tdap, meningococcal (meningitis), and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines to students ages 11 through 26 years this Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 8 a.m. to Noon.  Vaccines will be administered at our clinic, located at 1005 West Worley.  No appointment is needed; walk-ins are welcome.  The vaccines will be offered free of charge during this event.

"We feel very fortunate to be able to provide these vaccinations for free," Nursing Supervisor, Trina Teacutter, said. "Holding an event like this outside of our normal business hours also gives us a greater opportunity to protect the students in our community."

The Tdap, meningococcal (meningitis), and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines, provided by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, will be given while supplies last.

For more information on the vaccines, please visit www.immunize.org/vis/ and select the vaccine you wish to learn more about.
