Shooting Occurred Somewhere Between Lake of the Ozarks and Hendrix Drive
COLUMBIA, MO (March 13, 2014) - SHOOTING OCCURRED SOMEWHERE BETWEEN LAKE OF THE WOODS AND HENDRIX DRIVE
On 3/13/14 at 1:14 A.M., officers were dispatched to a leaving the scene accident on I-70 eastbound at the 128.0 mile marker. A witness reported seeing a white vehicle heading westbound on I-70, the vehicle then crossed through the cables into the eastbound lanes just east of the 128 mile marker. The witness reported the vehicle was driving the wrong way with one headlight out. The witness reported no other vehicles were involved in the accident. Officers arrived on the scene and began looking for the vehicle. Officers observed the median cables lying across the eastbound side of I70 at the 130.2 mile marker. The suspect vehicle was not located at that time.
On 3/13/14 at 1:32 A.M., a Boone County Sheriff’s Deputy observed the possible suspect vehicle of the leaving the scene accident on I-70 at Hospital Drive and Monk Drive. The Boone County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver drove to the hospital emergency room without stopping for the deputy. The Boone County Sheriff’s Deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle. The driver reported the male victim, 35, arrived at her house on Hendrix Lane and the victim had multiple gunshot wounds and the vehicle had damages from multiple gunshots so she drove him to the emergency room.
During the investigation, the victim was not cooperative with officers. The only information gathered is the shooting occurred somewhere between Jake’s Bar at 5695 Clark Lane and Hendrix Drive. The victim had non-life threatening injuries at the hospital. There was no evidence of a shooting that could be located on I-70. There was no evidence of a shooting at Jake’s Bar. At this time, there is no suspect information. The investigation is ongoing.
