One southbound lane of Providence at Bingham closed for two days

COLUMBIA, MO (May 7, 2014) - Columbia Water & Light will be connecting a new water main to an existing main located in the southbound lane of Providence at Bingham Road. This will cause southbound Providence Road traffic to be restricted to one lane on Thursday, May 8 and Friday, May 9 from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. This section of Providence Road will be open to traffic on Thursday night. Drivers can access Bingham Road by using Brandon Road. Motorists are urged to be cautious when traveling in the area.

 

The new water main in the Wayne and Bingham Road area will increase the water supply in the area for firefighting purposes. Once the new water main is tied into the existing water main on Providence, the line will be flushed. This might cause customers in the area to notice a slight discoloration of their water. Customers that experience this problem should let the water run for a few minutes until the discoloration disappears.
