National Trails Day: Celebrate the MKT

COLUMBIA, MO (May 30, 2014) - Join Columbia Parks and Recreation in celebrating one of the nation’s original rail-trails: the MKT! National Trails Day will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on June 7 at the Stadium trailhead (800 W. Stadium Blvd). National Trails Day is free of charge.

 

Event-goers can take part in a 5K fun run/walk or 10K family bike ride, starting at 10 a.m. Trailside bike assistance will be available. Participants will receive a t-shirt and other fun giveaways, while supplies last.

 

The American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day® is the country’s largest celebration of trails. Call Parks and Recreation at 874-7460 for details.
