PUBLIC HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES TO OFFER FLU CLINIC

COLUMBIA, MO (November 7, 2014) - WHO:  Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services

WHAT: The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services will hold a flu clinic open to the public. No appointments needed and walk-ins are welcome

WHERE: Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services, 1005 W. Worley, Columbia, MO 

WHEN: Saturday, November 8, 9 a.m. to Noon

WHY: This year, thanks to support from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, a limited supply of free adult vaccine will be provided on Saturday, November 8th only, on a first come first served basis. Additionally, with support from MU Children’s Hospital and the David B. Lichtenstein Foundation, free flu vaccine will be provided to children age six months through 18 years.  A limited supply of the injectable flu vaccine for children age three through 18 years old is available and is being reserved for children who cannot receive the FluMist vaccine due to contraindications.

Flu vaccine is also regularly available Monday – Friday from 8 am – 4:30 pm at the department’s clinic, located at 1005 West Worley in Columbia. No appointment is needed; walk-ins are welcome.
