Arrest Made On A Stolen Vehicle From Kitty Hawk Apartments
COLUMBIA, MO (October 15, 2014) - ARREST MADE ON A STOLEN VEHICLE FROM KITTY HAWK APARTMENTS
On 10/14/14 at 10:18 P.M., an officer was in the area of Edenton Boulevard and Greensboro Drive when the officer observed a black Dodge 1500 Pick-Up truck matching the description of a stolen vehicle reported stolen on 10/13/14 in the 1600 block of Kitty Hawk Drive.
The officer observed the suspect fail to use a turn signal when turning south onto Citadel Drive from Greensboro Drive. The officer activated his emergency lights and sirens in attempt to stop the vehicle. The driver of the stolen vehicle continued to drive away from the officer. The driver violated several traffic laws to include stop signs and speed. The driver turned east on Raleigh Drive and struck several parked vehicles. The driver of the stolen vehicle drove through a yard and collided with a duplex at 1419 Raleigh Drive.
The driver took off running from the vehicle crash and the suspect, Kaylen J. Hayse, age 17, was taken into custody at Edenton Drive and Brown School Road. Two of the residents where the house was struck were transported by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries to a local hospital.
Hayse was arrested for:
Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident with a bond of $4,500.00
Property Damage in the First Degree with a bond of $4,500.00
Resisting or Interfering with an Arrest with a bond of $4,500.00
Second Degree Assault x 2 with a bond of $9,000.00
Tampering in the First Degree with a bond of $4,500.00
Operated Motor Vehicle In a Careless and Imprudent Manner with a bond of $145.00
Operated Vehicle On Highway Without Valid License with a bond of $300.00
Outstanding Felony Warrant for Damage Property with a bond of $4,500.00
