Intersection of 5th and Turner closed for electric work

COLUMBIA, MO (September 15, 2014) - An electric contractor for Columbia Water & Light will be installing conduit for an underground electric line at the intersection of 5th Street and Turner Avenue from Wednesday, September 17 through Wednesday, October 1, 2014, weather permitting. Motorists will need to detour around the block while the trenching work is underway. No electric service interruptions are expected during this project.

 

This project will complete the undergrounding of electric lines on 5th Street. Burying electric lines in the downtown area started in the 1970’s and the majority of the lines are now underground.
