Bicycle Touring and Camping Workshop

COLUMBIA, MO (September 23, 2014) - GetAbout Columbia, in partnership with Columbia Parks and Recreation, is offering a free Bicycle Touring and Camping Workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 28. The workshop will be held at the Armory Sports Center, 701 E. Ash.

Seasoned cyclists insist that when you’re on a bicycle tour, transportation IS the vacation. Now is the perfect time to think, plan, scheme and talk about fall bike camping and touring adventures.

Rachel Ruhlen, touring cyclist enthusiast, will lead a presentation and panel discussion.  The workshop will cover tour planning, equipment, two-wheeled camping as well as day-to-day life on the road. Participants will receive information regarding a free, two day, independently organized and self-supported bicycle tour to New Franklin.

The bicycle touring workshop is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is not required.  For special accommodations, please contact Janet Godon at 573.874.7460 or jlgodon at gocolumbiamo.com. For more information, call GetAbout Columbia at (573) 874-7460.
