Monthly Outdoor Siren Test on Wednesday

COLUMBIA, MO (September 29, 2014) - The monthly test of outdoor warning sires is scheduled for Wednesday, October 1. Boone County Public Safety Joint Communications will activate the county's outdoor warning sirens at Noon, in a coordinated test with the Office of Emergency Management. Individuals, families, schools, businesses, hospitals and governmental offices are urged to use the test to review emergency plans. 

PSJC and OEM reminds everyone that outdoor warning sirens are designed to be heard by people who are outside. Persons who are indoors are encouraged to tune to local media or have a NOAA weather radio, especially when severe weather threatens the area. Â
