Advancing Renewables in the Midwest conference 

COLUMBIA, MO (April 3, 2015) -  

Advancing Renewables in the Midwest conference 

Monday, April 6 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm and 

Tuesday, April 7 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm

Christopher S. Bond Life Sciences Center

University of Missouri – Columbia campus

                                                                                                

Fourteen speakers from across the country States will be in Columbia to share their experiences with programs, policies and projects that are at the forefront of renewable energy.  Select topics include: the economics of new energy sources, Missouri’s efforts in renewable energy, financing projects, legislation and energy efficiency. 

 

Michael Noble from Fresh Energy will be the keynote speaker on Tuesday morning at 8:45 am. He built Fresh Energy by gathering a group of professionals to shape and drive innovations in energy and transportation policies. Michael has been the lead strategist for dozens of public policy innovations in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy development, solutions to climate change, and market-based efforts to reduce reliance on coal and oil in Minnesota and the Midwest region. 

 

The tenth annual conference is hosted by Columbia Water & Light, the University of Missouri’s Soil, Environmental and Atmospheric Sciences department and the Missouri Department of Economic Development – Division of Energy. 

 

The cost of the conference is $75 for the general public and $125 for energy professionals. Beginning April 4, the cost goes up to $90 and $145 respectively. Registration can be accomplished online at AdvancingRenewables.org, by calling 573- 882-4349 or emailing muconf2 at missouri.edu. A list of speakers and topics can also be found on the Web site. 

 

The Advancing Renewables in the Midwest conference is sponsored by Gexpro, the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, Honeywell, Solexus and Turnbull Contracting. 

 

Members of the press attending the event are urged to check in at the registration table. There will be no charge for media attending the event but lunch will not be provided.
