ARMED ROBBERY AT 900 KEENE STREET WITH SUSPECT STILL AT LARGE

COLUMBIA, MO (April 15, 2015) - On 4/15/15 at 5:35 P.M., officers were dispatched to 900 Keene Street, Mosers Supermarket, in reference to a robbery with a gun.

 

The investigation revealed the male suspect hid inside the female victim’s vehicle while the victim was shopping in the business. When the victim arrived back to her vehicle, the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the victim drive away. A struggle ensued and the victim was able to escape the vehicle and contact security. The suspect fled the scene on foot heading southwest from the business. The victim sustained lacerations to her head and hand as a result of the struggle. Upon officers’ arrival a perimeter was set and a K-9 track was conducted, however, the suspect was not located.

 

At this time the suspect is believed to be Mark W. Adair, 51. Probation and Parole recently issued a warrant for Adair for absconding parole. He is a registered sex offender who is armed and dangerous. Adair is described as a white male, approximately 5’9” tall and weighing 195 pounds. He has silver and blond hair and was last seen wearing a t-shirt and shorts. Adair was serving a total sentence of 30 years prior to parole for the following:

Active Offenses:

Kidnapping & Burglary in the First Degree

Completed Offenses:

Rape, Burglary in the Second Degree, Stealing, Drug Possession, Assault on Law Enforcement, & Resisting Arrest.

The community is encouraged to be on alert for suspicious activity and report it immediately to the Columbia Police Department. Please use safety precautions and ensure all doors to vehicles and homes are locked.
