Pedestrian Fatality Crash Involving A Motor Vehicle at I-70 E at Providence Road

COLUMBIA, MO (April 23, 2015) - TYPE OF INCIDENT: Pedestrian fatality involving a motor vehicle

LAW INCIDENT#: 2015072264

DATE & TIME OCCURRED: 04/23/15 @ approximately 0320 hours             

           

ACCIDENT LOCATION:  I-70 E @ Providence Rd

 

PEDESTRIAN:       Kaycee A. Blackburn          

                         Columbia, MO

                         Age: 24

                                                           

                                                                       

INCIDENT DETAILS:

 

                       On 4/23/15 at approximately 0320 hours an unknown traffic hazard was reported on I-70 eastbound under the Providence Road overpass in the center of the roadway. Upon the arrival of law enforcement at the scene of the incident, it was discovered that the traffic hazard was a deceased female, which appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. Personal items identifying the deceased were located on the outer edge of the overpass on Providence Road. The driver of a vehicle who struck the female in the roadway reported the incident to law enforcement after the crash. Foul play and/or negligence is not believed to be a factor in this incident.

 

                        Next of kin of the deceased has been notified.

  

                        The investigation is ongoing.
