SECOND UPDATE - Road Closure for Emergency Sewer Repairs - East Walnut between College Ave and Melbourne St

COLUMBIA, MO (August 5, 2015) - Update #2 - Columbia Public Works Sewer Utility has revised the work area previously published. One northbound lane of College will be closed at Walnut. One southbound lane and the left turn lane from southbound College onto eastbound Walnut is also closed. 

The closure will begin at 9 am on Thursday, August 6 with the work scheduled to be complete by 3:00 PM the same day weather permitting. 

Motorist and non-motorized transportation users should use caution in the work zone and find alternate routes if available.











Update #1 - due to weather, this closure for the sewer repair has been rescheduled for Thursday, August 6 and is scheduled to be completed by Friday, August 7.





In addition the date change, one northbound lane of College Ave at Walnut will also be closed between East Broadway and East Walnut St.



Original Release -



A contractor for the City of Columbia will be repairing a sewer line under East Walnut at College Ave beginning on Wednesday, August 5 at 9:00 am. This will require a full closure of East Walnut between College Ave and Melbourne St. The work is scheduled to be completed, weather permitting, by Friday, August 7 at 5:00 PM.

All lanes of College Ave are expected to remain open while repairs are made, however, one northbound lane of College Ave at Walnut may be temporarily restricted at various times during the repairs. 

Motorist and non-motorized transportation users are urged to use caution in the work zone and find alternate routes during the closure.
