Crack Sealing Operations on Maquire Blvd between Emily Dr and Lemone Industrial Dr - August 10 - 14

COLUMBIA, MO (August 7, 2015) - Beginning on Monday, August 10 at 7:00 am, Columbia Public Works Street Division will perform crack sealing work on Maguire Boulevard between Emily Drive and Lemone Industrial Boulevard. The work is scheduled to be completed, weather permitting, by Friday, August 14 at 3:30 pm. Motorists will be directed around this rolling work zone.

Crack sealing involves using a liquid asphalt substance to seal cracks between the concrete panels of the roadway. The sealing material is covered with sand or saw-dust to reduce the amount of product from sticking to vehicle wheels. Sealing the cracks reduces the infiltration of water and subsequent roadway damage from freezing and thawing. 

Motorist and non-motorized transportation users should use caution in the work zone and find alternate routes when available.
