Fire Damages industrial machinery in north Columbia
COLUMBIA, MO (December 9, 2015) - At 4:12 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015, the Columbia Fire Department responded to a reported commercial structure fire at 5301 Paris Road. A passer-by called 911 and reported thick black smoke coming from the vents of the structure.
Columbia Firefighters arrived at 4:20 a.m. to find smoke showing from the exterior of the structure. Firefighters entered the structure, located and extinguished the fire in less than 15 minutes. Crews had to ventilate the thick smoke and carbon monoxide from the structure before Assistant Fire Marshal Kyle Edwards could start the fire cause investigation.
There were no injuries and no damage to the structure itself. A dollar damage estimate has not yet been determined.
Three engines, a ladder, and a rescue squad responded to the incident. Crews are still on scene ventilating the structure.
