Press conference: committee to support Proposition 1 and 2 formed

COLUMBIA, MO (February 26, 2015) -

Friday, February 27 at 10:00 a.m.

Old Nifong & Rock Quarry Road (parking on Juniper at Rock Quarry)

 

A citizen group has been formed to support Columbia’s Proposition 1 and 2, the electric bond and storm water rate adjustment issue. Both propositions will be on the April 7 ballot. Chris Kelly, Chairman of the Foundation for Columbia’s Future, will be announcing the committee members at the press conference on Friday. The event will be held at the storm water drainage system at the corner of Old Nifong and Rock Quarry Road.

 

Proposition 1 is a $63.1 million dollar bond issue for Columbia Water & Light electric system improvements throughout the city. Proposition 2 will ask voters to decide whether or not storm water rates for each parcel of developed land should be adjusted to pay for failing and inadequate storm water systems.
