Reminder: Applications for 2015 Neighborhood Leadership Program Close January 12

COLUMBIA, MO (January 6, 2015) - The City of Columbia’s Community Development Department is pleased to announce the 2015 Neighborhood Leadership Program. The NLP is a four-session series on topics related to personal leadership and ways to strengthen neighborhoods. Each session will have two parts: the first part will introduce participants to basic functions of local government, and the second part will be a workshop to build leadership capabilities. Sessions are scheduled as follows:

 

Session 1: Introduction to Local Government and Neighborhood Engagement--January 27, 2015

Session 2: Code Enforcement and Redevelopment/Managing Neighborhood Meetings--February 10, 2015

Session 3: Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods and the Neighborhood Planning Program/Neighborhood Advocacy--February 24, 2015

Session 4: Growth and Development/Working Together--March 10, 2015


All sessions will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Walton Building, 300 S. Providence. To apply, please go to www.tinyurl.com/NLP2015. There is a $25 fee payable to the City of Columbia due at the first session, and scholarships are available. The application deadline is January 12, 2015. Class size is limited to 20 participants.
