HOME INVASION ROBBERY NEAR GARTH AND GRAND AVENUE

COLUMBIA, MO (July 28, 2015) - On 7/27/15 at 11:57 P.M., officers were dispatched near Garth Avenue and Grand Avenue in reference to a disturbance with a gun.

 

The investigation revealed two male suspects forced entry into a residence in the area. There were five individuals inside the home at the time. The suspects displayed handguns and demanded money. One male victim, 50, engaged in a physical altercation with one of the suspects. During the altercation at least one round was fired inside the home. The suspects proceeded to assault the above mentioned victim prior to fleeing the area on foot. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries from the assault and drove himself to a local hospital. There were no injuries from gunfire to any of the victims. The amount of money and/or property obtained by the suspects is unknown at this time.

 

During search of the residence, officers located marijuana and drug paraphernalia in view in the living room. A K-9 track was conducted in the area, however, the suspects were not located. The suspects were described as younger black males wearing dark clothing and cloth covering their faces. The investigation is on-going.
