Fatality Crash in the 300 block of Williams Street

COLUMBIA, MO (June 21, 2015) - TYPE OF INCIDENT: Fatality Crash

CASE#: 2015109771

DATE & TIME OCCURRED: 06/21/15 @ 1359 hours              

           

ACCIDENT LOCATION:  300 Block William Street                 

 

DRIVER 1:                white male (Pending Next of Kin Notification)                                        

                                    Sunrise Beach, MO                                      

                                    Age: 72

                                    Injured: Fatal

                                    Seatbelt use: Unknown

                                   

 

INCIDENT DETAILS:

 

                        Vehicle 1, a Silver 2015 Toyota Camry, was traveling northbound in the 300 block of William Street. Driver 1 veered off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.  Driver #1 had to be removed from the vehicle by medical and fire personnel.  Driver #1 was transported from the scene by EMS personnel to the University Of Missouri Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  It is believed driver #1 had a medical condition just prior to the crash causing him to lose control of the vehicle; However this will not be determined prior to an exam by the Boone/Callaway Medical Examiner’s Office.

                       

                        Speed and/or impairment by drugs/Alcohol are not a factor in this crash. 

 

                       

                        The investigation is ongoing.
