Traffic restrictions on Texas Avenue during water project

COLUMBIA, MO (March 26, 2015) - Columbia Water & Light will be replacing a 6-inch water line on Texas Avenue from Garth Avenue to Creasy Springs Road starting Monday, March 30. This water main is approaching the end of its useful life and has been experiencing breaks. The existing pipe will be replaced with an 8-inch and 12-inch water main. The upgraded water line will increase the amount of water that can be delivered to the area for consumers and firefighting purposes. It will also increase the reliability of water service in the area.

 

The water project is being done in conjunction with street work and is expected to be finished in the fall. During the construction phase, there will be times where there are traffic lane restrictions or partial closures. Motorists are urged to be cautious in the construction zone. If there are any water service disruptions during this project, the customers will be individually notified.
