Electric system installation will hinder traffic on Elm and Hitt streets

COLUMBIA, MO (May 14, 2015) -

Columbia Water & Light is nearing completion of a new electric feeder line project that started last summer. Crews will be installing a new electric line from May 18 through June 12, weather permitting. From May 18 through May 22 the intersection of Elm and 10th streets will be closed. After that, there will be partial lane closures as the work continues east on Elm Street, then south on Hitt Street to Paquin Street. Six parking spots along Hitt Street will be closed during the first part of June. Motorists are urged to be cautious when traveling in the area and use alternate routes when possible.
