Parks and Recreation Presents Family Fun Fests in New Location

COLUMBIA, MO (May 14, 2015) - Kindness will be the theme at the first Family Fun Fest of 2015! The summer festival series has a new home this summer, at Cosmo Park near the newly renovated Steinberg Playground. Parks and Recreation will hold the “Kindness is Contagious” Family Fun Fest from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 20. This month’s theme:

 

Kindness is Contagious

Sponsored by Children’s Grove and Putting Kids First

The event will be full of fun activities, music, performances, and awareness for mental health issues and the importance of showing kindness to everyone. Kids will also have the chance to bounce in inflatables, and check out a fire truck from the City of Columbia and the Daniel Boone Library’s Bookmobile.

 

The Fun Fests feature a new theme each month and offer free entertainment for the entire family such as music, special performances, art activities, bounce-houses, hands-on activities, balloon-animals, face painting and fun for all ages.

 

The Family Fun Fests are sponsored by the Convention & Visitors Bureau, KPLA 101.5, KOMU TV8, and Rockin’ Rents Inflatable Entertainment.
