CPD CELEBRATES RETIREMENT OF K-9 OFFICER LEAH

COLUMBIA, MO (November 11, 2015) - After nine years of dedicated service, K-9 Officer Leah has entered retirement.

 

Today, officers from the K-9 Unit and the Vice Narcotics Organized Crime Unit stood by as K-9 Officer Leah and her handler, Officer Ron Hall, were presented a plaque for Leah’s nine years of service with the Columbia Police Department. Leah began training in October 2006 at Moore’s K-9 in Amelia, Virginia as a K-9 officer. Prior to this, Leah served as a family pet full of energy! Beginning her career with CPD in December 2006, her energy never ceased. Over the last nine years Leah has successfully located nearly $4.5 million’s in money and drug seizures.

 

“She is incredibly smart. It’s been a dream come true for me to be able to have worked with her for the last nine years. She is irreplaceable,” says handler Officer Ron Hall.

 

Leah will enjoy retirement at home with Hall and her family.

 

CPD would like to thank Bourne Feed and Pet Center for supplying food and canine care for Leah in her retirement.
