Outdoor Warning Sirens Activated for Monthly Test

COLUMBIA, MO (November 30, 2015) - The monthly activation of Boone County’s all-hazard outdoor warning sirens is scheduled for Wednesday, December 2.  The test is scheduled to take place at Noon, but will be cancelled in the event of threatening weather conditions.

The test activation of the over 80 sirens is a cooperative effort of Joint Communications and the Office of Emergency Management. Residents are reminded that the outdoor warning sirens are not designed to be heard indoors.
