Fire Damages Residence in North Central Columbia
COLUMBIA, MO (October 28, 2015) - Fire Damages Residence in North Central Columbia
COLUMBIA, MO (October 9, 2015)-
At 6:34 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2015, the Columbia Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire at 2001 Parkade Boulevard. Several 9-1-1 callers reported flames coming from the residence.
Columbia Firefighters arrived at 6:39 p.m. to find flames from the rear and attic of the structure. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire in 20 to 30 minutes.
One occupant was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. The damage estimate is $50,000. The fire is currently being investigated.
A Quint, an Engine, a Snozzle, a ladder, and a rescue squad responded to the incident.
The Columbia Fire Department wants to remind everyone to check their smoke alarms for working batteries. If the alarm is over 10 years old it should be replaced.
