Joint Communications Readies for Annual Roots-n-Blues Festival

COLUMBIA, MO (September 23, 2015) - Joint Communications welcomes those attending this weekend’s Root-N-Blues and Barbecue Festival this weekend, but also reminds festival-goers to exercise caution at the event.


*Be aware of your surroundings. 

*Know the location from where you are calling.

*Provide the exact location of the emergency or incident.

*Remain calm.

*Speak clearly.

*Explain the incident.

*Follow the Emergency Telecommunicator’s instructions. 

*Stay on the line until the telecommunicator tells you to hang up. 


Remember:  9-1-1 should be called for public safety and life-threatening situations. For non-emergency situations Joint Communications encourages those in attendance to seek one of many Columbia police officers that will be canvassing the festival, or contact the non-emergency number at (573) 442-6131.
